Professor Atiqul Islam is the Vice-Chancellor of North South University, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Previously, he served as the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Engagement), at Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia. He has a wealth of teaching and learning experience having worked in a number of universities in the Asia-Pacific over the last three decades. He has published in academic and professional journals and delivered keynote speeches.

Professor Atiqul Islam is a seasoned academic administrator having occupied positions of responsibility in a number of universities over the last 15 years. He served with distinction as the Head of the School of Commerce at the University of South Australia (2005-2008) and as Dean of the Faculty of Business and Government at the University of Canberra (2008-2010).

Professor Atiqul Islam holds first-class Honours and Master’s degrees from the University of Dhaka, an M.Com (Accounting) from the University of New South Wales, and Ph. D. from the University of Sydney.

He maintains close relations with the government, industry, and professional bodies.
